Outdoor classroom grant program for K-12 public schools
Created by Lowe’s, International Paper and National Geographic Explorer. Grants of up to $2,000 and occasionally $20,000 may be used to create new outdoor classrooms and/or enhance existing outdoor learning environments. Grant applications will be reviewed three times a year.
Volvo Adventure Awards
Jan 31, 2008 deadline
The Volvo Adventure Award rewards young people creating their own environmental projects. There are two competitions: 1) The Adventure Award for youth, ages 13-16, working in groups of two to five. Winners are invited to the final competition in Göteborg, Sweden. 2) The Great Big Bob the Bunny Cartoon contest for youth under the age of 13. Winning cartoons will be included in a book, and the winners will be invited to a 2008 UNEP Children's conference in Stavanger, Norway.
President's Environmental Youth Award application
Do you know a student in grade K-12 that has completed an environmental project? Tell them to fill out a President's Environmental Youth Award application. Deadline is October 31. Everyone who applies receives a certificate signed by the President! More information at:
